Force Comparison
All census output areas (average 150 households) are ranked across the whole of the West Midlands Police Force Area. The map shows the areas that fall within the top 5%, top 10% and so on within the whole Police Force Area. This shows how significant the levels of crime in your neighbourhood are in comparison to the Police Force area as a whole
Count of Crime
All census output areas (average 150 households) are colour coded according the amount of crime that has taken place in that area. This shows areas how crime in spread across your neighbourhood. Note that red areas are the areas with more crime in your neighbourhood not in comparison to other neighbourhoods.
Change
All census output areas (average 150 households) are colour coded according the amount of crime that has taken place in that area over the last 12 months in comparison to the preceding 12 months. This shows where crime levels have improved or worsened in your neighbourhood.
Trend Help
Trend Graph
Each coloured bar indicates the number of recorded crimes that took place in the month. The line shows the average number of crimes per month over the last 12 month period. The graph gives a simple impression of whether crime is rising or falling in the neighbourhood.
Month Comparison
The most recent months data is furthest right on the chart. The two bars represent the count of recorded crime, one showing the count for this year and the other showing the count in the previous year. This allows a user to see if crime was higher or lower than the same time period last year.
Crime Table:
The table provides users with comparisons of how many crimes there are in their neighbourhood in comparison to the local authority district and the force area. The table lists each of the selected crime types and a total and contains four columns of data.
- Neighbourhood (No. of Crimes) – The number of recorded crimes in the last 12 months in the neighbourhood.
- Neighbourhood (Rate/1000 popn) – The number of recorded crimes for every 1000 population in the neighbourhood.
- District (Rate) – The number of recorded crimes for every 1000 population in the local authority district.
- Force (Rate) – The number of recorded crimes for every 1000 population in the whole West Midlands Police Force area.
