Table
This page compares the number of crimes or anti-social behaviour incidents recorded in your chosen neighbourhood, your Local Authority and West Midlands Police areas over the past 12 months and the rate of each crime type per 1,000 population.
Rates are used to compare the areas as they show crime in relation to the number of residents in the area. This allows comparisons to be made between areas which contain different levels of population.
The rate for residential burglary is calculated on the number of households rather than residents. This is a nationally recognised way of analysing crimes against properties and allows for better comparisons to be made between different areas.
Rates for town and city centres can be distorted because the residential population is very small.
Hover over any of the crime types to get a definition. For a more detailed definition, go to the FAQs section at the bottom of this page and click on Crime Types.
